I spotted this Thunderobot Radiant 16 gaming laptop going for a great price earlier this month, and it looks like it’s now dropped even further on Amazon, through PCOnline US. It’s now down 28% from its list price and at a new record low of $1,799.00. That’s $200 less than the last time I wrote about it, and seriously competitive given its specs and features. You’ve got an RTX 5070, Intel Core i9-13900HX, 32GB of DDR5, a QHD+, 300Hz display, and it’s all housed in a super-sleek chassis. Here’s a closer look at what each element of this laptop brings to the table.
With the RTX 5070, you’re getting 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a beefier CUDA core count compared to the RTX 5060, making it a brilliant choice for FHD, FHD+, QHD gaming, and QHD+ with sensible settings and use of DLSS in more demanding titles. The CPU here may be a couple of generations old, but it’s still incredibly impressive, especially for the price. It features 24 cores (8P + 16E), which unlock serious multitasking capabilities, and allows this gaming laptop to game and run background applications easily or function effectively with complex creative workflows, for example. With a large 32B L3 cache and 5.4GHz boost clock, it’s also primed for FHD gaming at high fps, as well as being adept for QHD/QHD+ which the RTX 5070 mobile targets.
The screen is a very strong element of this laptop. It’s QHD+ and 300Hz, which is brilliant for high FPS gaming with minimal motion blur and ghosting. It’s 500 nits, which is notably brighter than some 300/ 400 nit options that float around this price range. And it’s 100% sRGB, which is great for making games look more vibrant and good for web designers, too.

It doesn’t skimp on RAM, either, and with 32GB you’re going to be getting smoother gameplay with less micro-stuttering and more headroom for multitasking, too.
Why should you consider this Thunderobot Radiant 16 gaming laptop?
Very competitively priced given its configuration
Not only are you getting arguably the best mobile graphics card for most people, but you’re also getting an extremely high core count CPU, loads of RAM, and a super-fast, QHD+ screen. For well under $2,000, that’s seriously good.
Amazing for gaming, and a pretty beefy workstation build, too
Its choice of CPU and amount of RAM allows for both brilliant gaming performance and exceptional multitasking capabilities, making it a very strong choice for both work and play.
It’s screen puts gaming performance front and centre
You’re not paying for a mini-LED or OLED, or something with 100% DCI-P3 color, which would be good for professional creatives, but also tends to drive the price way higher.
