Table of Contents
This brilliant Sony Bravia 65-inch mini-LED TV is now 27% off in Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, and is now down to just $1,098.00, which is significantly lower than its list price of $1,499.99. This TV comes packed with Sony’s impressive XR Processor, loads of features designed for the ultimate movie and home theatre setup, and it’s also got a high enough 120Hz refresh rate for you to get a lot out of a PS5, or PC, for that matter, for high fps, 4K gaming. At under $1,100, this is a great TV that will deliver lifelike picture quality, with incredible brightness, color, and contrast, without the super premium price tag of a QD-OLED alternative.
Key features of this Sony Bravia 5 65-inch mini-LED TV
Mini-LED panel
This TV features a mini-LED display, which has a few unique characteristics compared to your typical LED or OLED alternative. In short, it’s backlit, but has loads of smaller LEDs, which means it has more control over color and brightness than your standard LED, and, generally speaking, more brightness than both LEDs and OLEDs. For well-lit rooms and daylight viewing, mini-LEDs are one of the best ways to go.
XR processor
So Sony does some great processors for its TVs, and what you usually get is something designed to deliver extremely life-like picture quality, adjusting and enhancing it much in the same way the human eye adjusts based on its focus or focal points. There’s a lot I could go into, but the key areas that this processor will likely improve your overall experience will be with its Real-Life Depth, which is good for nature documentaries, for example, XR Motion Clarity, for smoother on-screen movement when watching sports, and XR Backlight Master Drive, which controls the thousands of mini-LEDs in this TV, helping to improve brightness and contrast, while reducing blooming.

Gaming features
Many TVs are ‘perfect for PS5’, but in all honesty, a quality QD-OLED monitor would be a better option in most cases. That being said, this TV has a 120Hz native refresh rate, which is good as it gives the PS5 a lot of headroom to hit 4K at very high fps. On top of that, it has Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture mode, which is pretty much like ALLM in the way that it detects if you’re gaming, and reduces input lag to increase how responsive everything feels.
Home theatre features
You’ve got Dolby Vision, IMAX enhanced, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X with this TV. Put simply, Dolby Vision means you’re getting better HDR quality, so brighter highlights, more color range, and very deep blacks. IMAX Enhanced means it can accommodate the taller picture format, for a super immersive experience and smaller black bars. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X create a 3D soundstage, so paired with the right surround sound system, it’s a complete game-changer for movie nights.
Things to consider
This is a great TV, no doubt, but it’s worth considering an OLED or QD-OLED option if you’re going to be spending upwards of $1,000, at least in my opinion. A good option to consider, especially if you want something good for PS5, would be LG’s C-series. Depending on how old you are, you can get some pretty good prices, too. I’d say the LG C2 series is still a quality OLED TV, but the LG C3 series has improved brightness, which is always a win. Check this C2 65-inch that I just found on Amazon, as it’s around the same price as this Sony mini-LED. For more TV deals, take a look below at our top picks.
