Key features and highlights of the Apple Magic Mouse
One of the biggest advantages is how easily the Magic Mouse works with a Mac. It’s ready to use out of the box and can pair automatically with a compatible Mac, so there isn’t much setup involved. Bluetooth handles the wireless connection during normal use, keeping your desk free from a USB receiver or additional cables.

Apple has also designed the bottom of the mouse with optimized feet that help it glide smoothly across a desk. This matters during everyday work because a mouse that moves easily requires less effort when navigating large displays, moving between applications, or working for extended periods.
The Magic Mouse is also relatively lightweight, weighing only 0.22 pounds or around 99g. It measures 4.47 inches deep and 2.25 inches wide, with a height of just 0.85 inches. That low-profile shape is a major part of the Magic Mouse’s distinctive design, although people who prefer a taller mouse that fills the palm may find the shape less comfortable.
The standout feature is the Multi-Touch surface across the top of the mouse. Instead of relying on a conventional physical scroll wheel, you can move a finger across the surface to navigate through documents and other content. The touch surface also supports gestures such as swiping between webpages, making navigation feel more similar to using a MacBook trackpad than a conventional mouse.
Aside from that, the Magic Mouse also comes with a built-in rechargeable battery, so there’s no need to keep replacing disposable AA or AAA batteries. As for battery life, Apple claims it can last around a month or more, depending on usage. This version also comes with a USB-C charging port and comes with a woven USB-C charge cable. The only drawback is that the charging port is located on the underside, so the mouse can’t be used while it’s being charged.Â
Is this mouse worth getting?
If you’re after a simple, attractive wireless mouse that integrates closely with a Mac or iPad, then the Apple Magic Mouse is definitely worth considering, especially now that it’s down to its lowest price ever. The automatic Mac pairing, Bluetooth connectivity, Multi-Touch gestures, and a battery that lasts around a month or longer make it convenient for everyday browsing and productivity. However, if you’re looking for something taller that fills the palm, this might not be suitable for you.
