What we like about this Alienware Aurora gaming PC deal
Premium build quality and design at a discount
Alienware gaming PCs stand apart from the crowd straight away, thanks to their stunning, futuristic design, but they’re not just great looks, they’re intellignetly engineers for optimal performance, with some clever functionality, too.
For instance, its side hexagon array isn’t just for show; it helps with airflow and acoustics, too, and when combined with its front stadium intake and top surface exhaust, it’s an effective passive cooling solution.
Powerful mid-range graphics card, with Blackwell Architecture benefits
You’ve got an RTX 5070 in this build, which is an excellent option for 1440p gaming, in particular, but also packs enough raw power to handle moderately demanding non-gaming tasks, like some 3D or video editing, with ease.
One of the big wins with this card is that you’re getting some of the latest-gen components, which help boost performance over previous-generation Nvidia cards, as well as competitor alternatives. In the RTX 5070’s case, you’ve got 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, for pucnhy, all-rounder performance.
To give you an idea of what to expect for gaming, in our review, an MSI RTX 5070 OC card was able to reach 108fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings at 1440p, which is pretty impressive, given that it’s pure rasterization, and can be greatly enhanced by using DLSS and MFG.
Versatile and powerful Intel processor
This build has an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, which is one of the newer LGA 1851 socket CPUs. It’s got a higher core and thread count than many of the common CPUs paired with the RTX 5070, like the Ryzen 7 8700F, for example, and it’s designed for gaming, with excellent handling of multitasking and demanding workflows.
For content creators, it’s a winner, as it’s well-suited to applications like Premiere Pro and Blender, and has a high enough core count to handle streaming, recording video, and running background applications with ease.
For gaming, something like a Ryzen 7 9800X3D would be preferable, but the 7 265F is still a solid choice for 1440p at high framerates with low frame latency.
Loads of RAM for gaming and productivity
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 here, which is going to greatly improve your overall experience when editing large files, multitasking, streaming, and gaming. For the latter, you can expect lower mcirostuttering, which can occur with more demanding games, and it’s going to give you a lot of headroom for future releases, too.
How good is this deal?
While the initial discount may not be too weighty, the deal, in my opinion, is very strong. The way to see this PC is that it’s in a bit of tier of its own when it comes to pricing, so it’s more about it being knocked down to ‘regular’ RTX 5070 pricing, but still boasting premium features.
RTX 5070 gaming PCs can be as low as around $1,600, so you can get cheaper, for sure, but you’ll likely be missing out on some of the more top-end features this Alienware PC brings to the table.
I’d say that if you’re looking for something higher-end but want to pay closer to standard prices, this is a great deal to go for.
