Key features of this MSI Codex R2 gaming PC

RTX 5070 graphics card

This card has 12GB of newer, faster GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, plus a higher CUDA core count than the RTX 5060 Ti. It’s a strong choice for QHD gaming and has enough VRAM and raw power to handle most creative workloads easily. If you’re a gamer and content creator, this card is a good way to go that won’t completely break the bank.

Intel Core i5-14400F processor

This is a decent processor from the 14th-gen lineup, and it packs 10 cores, 16 threads, a 4.7GHz boost clock speed, and 20MB L3 cache. For the price, it’s adequate for the RTX 5070’s capabilities and should keep it well-fed for QHD gaming in particular, while having enough cores for solid multitasking performance, too.

32GB of DDR5 and 1TB SSD

Great for playing more demanding games, reducing micro-stuttering, and improving a variety of creative processes, like timeline scrubbing or working on large projects. Its 1TB SSD is on the smaller side, but it’s fine with a bit of spring cleaning from time to time. And at this price point, it would be incredibly rare to find a 2TB SSD from the get-go with an RTX 5070.

Things to consider before buying

This build is a decent, more cost-effective RTX 5070 option to go for, but it does scale back in a few areas to remain more budget-friendly. I’d say that if you want something more future-facing, opting for an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, RTX 5070 build for around $300 more would be better for you. This will be built on the newer LGA 1851 socket, and often they will pick more robust AIO coolers and punchier PSUs, which gives you more headroom for upgrades in the future.
