MSI might be well known for its powerful gaming laptops, but it also makes some seriously impressive machines targeted at creatives. The Creator line is where you can find these, with laptops boasting punchy specs that make everything from video-editing, 3D modelling, and design a breeze.
I’ve spotted a laptop from this line, which has had its price slashed from $1,799.99 to $1,494.99 on Amazon, saving you a solid $305. This particular laptop is a great mid-range choice for creatives, that keeps costs down by not being too extreme with its SSD size and amount of RAM. It ideal if you’re a professional, but want to invest more when the time is right and when you actually need beefier components.

Here’s a closer look at the laptop and what it brings to the table.
MSI Creator A16 AI+ (2024) 16” QHD+ 240Hz Laptop
Standout features of this laptop
When it comes to the GPU, this laptop features an RTX 4060 mobile. This is a pretty good option for creators that offers decent performance for activities like rendering and video-editing, sitting very much in the mid-range space when it comes to pricing. The level up would be an RTX 4070 mobile, which does tend to tip towards $2000 plus, and can be a bit overkill depending on how heavy duty your tasks are. One thing to say about the 4060 is that is known to be fairly efficient, meaning that it keeps cooler and help keep your CPU working optimally.
The CPU is an AMD Ryzen AI 9-365, which boasts 10 cores and 20 threads, and has the addition of an integrated NPU (neural processing unity) for any AI related tasks. It’s a capable processor which should make easy work of most heavy duty tasks and multi-tasking too, and is again known for its efficiency.
The screen itself on these laptops is incredibly important for obvious reasons, and the good news is that this laptop delivers well in this department. It features a 16″ QHD+ display, which means you’re getting slightly more vertical space, and a fast 240hz refresh rate to allow for viewing content at higher frames per second. It also boasts 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, which is exactly what you want if you’re designing or color grading, and means that you can trust that this display will showcase colors accurately to this industry standard.
When it comes to storage, as mentioned, this option keeps it more basic, giving you 1TB. That’s more than enough for most, and easily expandable via an external SSD if you need it. It also boasts 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which should help make everything feel more responsive and quicker, especially if you’re running multiple applications or have loads of tabs open.
Add all this to WIFI 7, a lightweight, streamlined design, and more, and you’ve got something that really ticks all the boxes for the price point.
Should you go for it?
