Samsung’s 990 Evo Plus NVMe SSD was released in Q4 2024 to improve the existing Evo range and be one of the best PCIe Gen 5 SSD options in the market. Samsung NVMe drives are just expected to work reliably and be effective. This drive is PCIe 5.0, so it can go into older PCIe 4 systems (and work within those limits) or newer spec systems.
