Table of Contents
The Spring Sales are live on Amazon, and we’re seeing loads of cracking deals rolling in, especially on high-end gaming monitors. We’ve spotted one of Acer’s best with a massive 50% discount, bringing its price down from $999.99 to just $499.99, saving you a massive $500 on the list price.
Acer Predator products are designed with enthusiasts in mind and are much higher end than its Nitro line. This monitor is seriously impressive as it packs an OLED display, 240hz refresh rate, and very impressive color gamut that makes it an excellent option for professionals in the creative field. This is a very versatile monitor and could be a strong contender for one of the best 240hz monitors on the market today in our opinion, so if you’re looking to upgrade, now would be a great time do so.

Here’s what we like about this deal, and who we think it’s ideal for.
Acer Predator X27U
What we like about the Acer Predator X27U
- Perfect size screen for 1440p: 27 inches is commonly known as one of the best sizes to get the most out of 1440p resolution, as it doesn’t stretch out the image too much, preserving picture quality. It’s also a great size for most setups, as it won’t take up too much space, and isn’t too big that it’ll put you at a competitive disadvantage when playing first person shooters.
- OLED panel: OLED displays offer unbeatable contrast thanks to their self illuminating pixels. Expect deep blacks, bright whites, and vivid color here, which is great for gaming and watching HDR content.
- Super bright: This OLED monitor can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits, which is very impressive. Don’t be fooled though, as this is often measured in a small area of the monitor, rather than the whole screen. Realistically, it will be lower, but it’s still a good indication that this monitor is brighter than most – making it suitable for well-lit rooms.
- Loads of ports: This monitor features USB-C ports that support data and 90W power, alongside your standard DisplayPorts and HDMI 2.0. No HDMI 2.1 ports here, so it wouldn’t be the best for use with PS5 and Xbox Series X.
- Ergonomic stand: This stand has every bit of functionality you need to find your perfect positioning – height, swivel, tilt, and pivot.
- Zero frame design: Nothing worse than chunky bezels, and thankfully Acer knows this. The bezels on this monitor are practically invisible, which is great for immersion and gives the monitors a super high-end look.
- Wide color gamut: This has an incredibly high DCI-P3 rating, which means it can accurately cover almost all of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is used as an industry standard in various creative sectors such as film or print. That means that you can use this monitor for video editing, photography, and more with confidence in the color accuracy.
- High refresh rate and response time: Coming in at 240hz and 0.03ms response time, this is a potent combination for fast-paced gaming that should allow for high frames-per-second, with minimal ghosting. AMD FreeSync Premium will also help to reduce screen-tearing.
Who’s this deal for?
This deal is excellent for someone who has a mid-range to high-end setup, enjoys playing both competitive, fast-paced titles as well as more immersive, graphically intense HDR games, and who also plans on using it for creative work. It’s also great for those who want to watch HDR content, whether that be films or shows.
At $499.99, this is a good deal for an OLED monitor, and significantly cheaper than the list price – making it well worth considering if you’re in the market for an upgrade this Spring Sale.
