This Prime Big Deal just slammed one of Alienware’s finest monitors down to a new-record low price on Amazon, making it a fantastic time to buy. This 34-inch QD-OLED model is 21% off and now down to $629.99. Here’s a quick run-through of what it brings to the table, and why I think it’s well worth considering while it’s reduced.

It’s QD-OLED, which means you’re getting incredible contrast, good brightness, super deep blacks, and brilliant, vibrant color. These monitors are outstanding if you want to showcase games at their best when playing in HDR, but they’re also excellent picks for creatives with a wide color gamut. This monitor boasts a 1.5M contrast ratio and an impressive 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, which certainly ticks both of these boxes.

Alienware 34 Gaming Monitor AW3426DW

UWQHD QD-OLED, 280Hz, 0.03ms, G-SYNC, DisplayHDR True Black 500, 1,500,000:1 Contrast, 99% DCI-P3, USB-C 15W, 2 HDMI 2.1, 1 DP 1.4, VESA 100×100

Its resolution is 3440 x 1440, or WQHD, which means you’re getting QHD clarity but across a wider screen. It’s excellent, as this resolution and size still preserve a higher pixel density. This makes everything look crisp and clear, whether that’s picking up details and textures in games, reading small text, and more. Its curve is 1800R, which is much more subtle than your typical 800R – 1000R gaming monitor. That’s great as it makes it immersive, but not at the cost of reducing its practicality for non-gaming usage.

On the gaming performance side, it’s a fast 280Hz with a low 0.3ms response time, both of which lend themselves well to competitive and fast-paced gaming, with smooth motion. There’s even an eSports Mode where you can play in a smaller 24.5-inch viewing area, which is better for certain competitive titles. It also features FreeSync Premium Pro, which not only reduces screen tearing and stutter, but also improves HDR gaming performance.

Elsewhere, with this monitor, you’ve obviously got the instantly recognisable Alienware aesthetic, with its clean, futuristic look and feel; however, there’s also some clever engineering hidden below the surface. This monitor has a built-in graphite sheet designed to whisk away excess heat, and it also features technology designed to actively protect against burn-in. And while this monitor isn’t a full-on productivity workstation display, it still features USB-C with 15W PD, which helps keep cable clutter to a minimum in your setup and lets you charge phones and other devices directly from the monitor itself.

What we like about this Alienware AW3426DW gaming monitor

It’s a notable discount for an Alienware monitor

I’ve been writing about monitors for years, and I can tell you that this discount is actually very impressive. Alienware monitors are more premium items, and in my experience, they don’t tend to see huge or frequent discounts. The name of the game is grabbing them when they hit record-low prices, as is the case here.

Ticks all the boxes for gaming

Wide enough to be immersive, fast enough for competitive play, and with excellent brightness, contrast, and color for a more cinematic, lifelike, and atmospheric experience.

Accurate color and wide color gamut fro creatives

With Delta E<2 accuracy and 99% DCI-P3 color, and its wider format, this monitor is primed for video editing. If you’re splitting your time between gaming and creative work, I’d say this monitor is a very strong pick for the price.
