It has been a busy couple of days in Berlin so far as IFA 2024 is underway, with Acer being one of the brands to announce a new line-up of gaming hardware. We’ve already covered the recent unveiling of its Nitro Blaze 7 gaming handheld, and now’s the time for more Nitro tech to be shown off.

High refresh rates have become the standard for gaming, where we’re used to the usual 240Hz or 360Hz displays – but what about 600Hz? That’s what Acer offers you with the new Nitro XV240 F6 gaming monitor. We’ve had a close look at the specs and price, and it turns out you get a Hertz for every dollar you pay.

As to be expected, this 600Hz monitor sits at the competitive resolution of 1080p. We aren’t quite ready for something like this at 1440p or above, nor would it be feasible (Acer has come close with another monitor as we’ll explain below). Realistically, you need to be pushing upwards of 600 FPS in your game of choice to make the most of the full 600Hz refresh rate. So, it is definitely one for the enthusiasts and competitive gamers out there, though it’s likely overkill in most scenarios.

According to Acer’s press release, the Nitro XV240 F6 will cost $599.99 In the US and will be available across North America in Q1 2025. This release window is the same for the other two Acer Nitro displays coming up.

What about the other two monitors?

It feels right to focus on the almost ridiculously high 600Hz refresh rate monitor first and foremost, but you’re probably wondering about the other two displays. Well, it turns out there’s plenty more to tuck into if high refresh rate gaming is what you’re after. Two more that break the 500Hz mark.

  • Acer Nitro XV270 F5: 27-inch, 1080p resolution, 520Hz refresh rate, 0.5ms response time
  • Acer Nitro XV270U F5: 27-inch, 1440p resolution, 500Hz refresh rate, 0.5ms response time

So, two more 500Hz+ monitors are up for grabs early next year. The Acer Nitro XV270 and Acer Nitro XV270U will be priced at $599.99 and $799.99 respectively in the US. That brings the total Hertz from Acer’s new “UltraSpeed” Nitro gaming monitors up to 1620Hz.
