AMD fans are currently looking forward to the AMD Radeon RX 8000 GPUs, which are expected to launch later this year. The upcoming series is rumored to launch without a high-end GPU. So, your best option may be to stick with cards from this current generation for the best price-to-performance ratio.

But as we’re getting closer to the release of the next-gen GPUs, we’re seeing discounts on current cards. The latest card to receive a discount is the AMD RX 7800 XT, which is a solid GPU for 1440p gaming. On top of that, a bonus game promotion is still live.

Big discount on the RX 7800 XT and more

The RX 7800 XT, originally launched with a $499 MSRP, has hit a new low of $479 on Newegg. This reduced price applies specifically to the ASRock Challenger version of the card. What’s even better is that you can bring this price down further by applying a discount code. If you use the code SSDTDTA723 while checking out, you can save another $10 on the card, taking the price down to $469. Aside from the 7800 XT, three other cards have prices slashed on Newegg, full list below:

A bonus promotion

AMD also recently announced the ‘This Is Why We Game Campaign,’ and they’re offering two free games with the purchase of the AMD RX 7800 XT or RX 7700 XT as part of it. There are a total of four games, Starfield, Lies of P, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Company of Heroes 3, and you can choose any two. However, if you’re in Japan, you can only choose one game. In any case, now is the perfect time to buy the RX 7800 XT, as it is currently listed at a pretty low price, and you can even get two free games with it.

We also reviewed the RX 7800 XT and found it to be an excellent card for 1440p gaming – it makes sense why AMD billed it as ‘the ultimate 1440p upgrade’ and this deal only solidifies that title. In their press release at the time of launch, they called it the “ultimate graphics card for 1440p gaming”.

The discount on the RX 7800 XT provides a great opportunity for those who are planning to upgrade their GPUs. With rumors suggesting that the upcoming RX 8000 series may not include a high-end option, most people would consider upgrading to a better card within the current series. In any case, as we get closer to the launch of the next series, we can expect to see even better discounts.
