AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT where to buy & pre order US & UK
Table of Contents
In what seems to be becoming a standard for AMD, it is giving us yet more AM4 CPUs even though it has moved on from the platform. As with the Ryzen 9000 series release we are also getting the 5800XT and 5900XT. The manufacturer has now given us an insight into its commitment to AM5 longevity if this precedent is anything to go by. So after many years since AM5 was released, this is quite the surprise but may be there for someone. It certainly beats out trashing the chips and can offer an upgrade to someone looking for the best CPU for their build. Now we look to where you might be able to find the processor.

Where to buy the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT US – Expected retailers
The United States has got a good range of retailers to look forward to. Although no listings are found on these yet, they have a notoriously good history of stocking the new hardware when it releases.
Where to buy the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT CA – Expected retailers
North of the border you have pretty much the same options that you can look forward to once the processors release.
Where to buy the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT UK – Expected retailers
Here in the UK, we’ve got a range of different retailers to choose from, these tend to also stock the processors and most should have them on release day.
How much will the 5800XT cost?
We do not yet have official confirmation of how much the 5800XT will cost. Although AMD did initially suggest it might cost $249, it redacted that price later as an error in communication. But this could be its own early leak on what might be the actual price as it still is withholding that information until either the reviews are out or the CPUs are released. But we can also have a brief look at previous releases to see how their pricing changes.
- 5800X3D – $449
- 5800X – $449
- 3800X – $399
- 3800XT – $399
However, with the age of the platform and even though it is new it’s still an older choice of architecture. So it’s very unlikely to come out at full price. We saw the 5600GT price when it was released earlier this year and came out for $140 compared to the 5600X’s $299. So for the 5800XT, we would expect it to come under $300 and the $249 leak might be about right.
Can you preorder the 5800XT?
At the moment there are no preorders available for the 5800XT, for hardware these days it’s rarely ever the case that it comes out sooner than the release date. The only product page and listing we’ve found is at B&HPhoto which lets you get notified when the product becomes available. Otherwise, it suggests the preorders will start at 9 am ET on the 31st of July, which would imply you have to wait until the release to preorder or buy the CPU.
When can you buy the 5800XT?
The 5800XT is going to be available on the 31st of July according to B&H Photo’s product listing as well as coming out at the same time as the series 9000 processors. They should become available to buy on that release date so you have a bit of time left to wait before you can buy the processor.
