AMD Ryzen X3D chips make up over half of CPU sales in this recent sales report, and Intel isn’t close

German retailer Mindfactory is transparent about its sales numbers, making it a reliable source for hardware sales trends in the region. Looking at a new CPU sales report for week 34 of 2025 (August 18 – August 24), we can see that AMD is still comfortably on top, and X3D chips are doing a decent amount of heavy lifting.
According to the report shared by TechEpiphany on X, AMD sold a total of 3,395 units in week 34, acquiring 93.39% of the total market share. Intel, on the other hand, managed to sell only 320 units, taking an 8.61% share. AMD also generated more revenue, €1,014,437, with an average selling price of €299, while Intel generated only €77,049, with an average selling price of €241.
Ryzen X3D processors account for 51.14% of sales
When you look at sockets, AM5 was the best-selling option, with 2,805 units sold, followed by AM4 with 590 units. Intel’s 1700 socket sold 200 units, while its newest socket, the 1851, sold only 120 units. When you dive further into the report, you can see that the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 segments have an 81% share of the total sales, with the X3D units being on top. In fact, 51.14% of the total CPUs sold were X3D processors.

8-core CPUs also appear to be the top choice once again, taking a 44.01% share in the total sales. 8-core CPUs are becoming more popular as video games are getting more demanding. For example, Borderlands 4, an upcoming game scheduled to release on September 12, requires an 8-core CPU, but this is a problem since over half of Steam users still have 6-core processors. So, PC gamers are slowly shifting toward better processors to meet the requirements of modern games.
The fan-favourite Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 7800X3D (8-core) processors continue to be highly popular, coming in with 740 and 250 units sold, respectively. Meanwhile, the exclusive 6-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D model has enjoyed a massive amount of sales in the past week – 680 in total. A total of 1,900 X3D processors were sold at Mindfactory during the report period.
Another interesting part of the report is that most of the CPUs sold, 3,035 to be exact, have an integrated GPU, while the remaining 680 do not. CPUs with iGPUs allow you to use your PC without a dedicated graphics card.
