Apple unveils official iPhone Duo cases with two designs and two colors each, starting from $79

Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo, and the company is also giving buyers a couple of first-party options to protect its new device. Alongside the phone, Apple has unveiled two official accessories: the iPhone Duo Case and the more expensive iPhone Duo Folio; the latter comes with a kickstand.
Both have been designed specifically around the foldable form factor, but they take different approaches. The standard case focuses on providing protection for both sides of the device while keeping things thin and light. The Folio, meanwhile, adds an integrated kickstand that makes better use of the Duo’s large foldable display.
Official iPhone Duo cases are available on the Apple Store
The standard iPhone Duo Case uses a two-part design, which makes sense considering the phone has two separate halves connected by a hinge. It wraps around the front and back of the device, providing additional protection without adding too much bulk. Apple is using polycarbonate for the case along with a matte coating. As far as color options are concerned, buyers can choose from Sand and Navy Blue.

Apple also says users don’t need to remove the case for wireless charging, as it supports Apple’s MagSafe system as well as Qi2 25W and standard Qi-certified chargers.
The iPhone Duo Folio is the more interesting of the two accessories. Instead of the polycarbonate construction used for the standard case, Apple has opted for TechWoven, its custom technical fabric. This one is available in Taupe and Navy Blue.
Its biggest feature is the integrated kickstand on the back. Users can position the iPhone Duo at different viewing angles, which should come in handy for watching videos, reading, or making FaceTime calls on the larger display. When the stand isn’t needed, it folds back and snaps neatly against the case. Apple has also designed the Folio so wireless charging still works while the kickstand is open.
Of course, neither accessory is particularly cheap. The regular iPhone Duo Case is priced at $79, while the iPhone Duo Folio with kickstand will cost $129.
