AYANEO launched two new gaming handheld consoles earlier today, the Pocket DMG and Pocket MICRO, which are now live on Indiegogo. They have described these consoles by saying “these devices blend nostalgic design with cutting-edge technology, offering a unique retro gaming experience” – and we couldn’t agree more.
Retro Game Corps posted on X last week stating that the portable gaming console brand appears to be ‘clearing out inventory’ on their Air Plus handheld console. Their AMD Ryzen 3 7320U Air Plus with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage was on sale for $269, down $330 from the original $599, and it is now sold out.
The more expensive Air Plus with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is still up for grabs at $499, marking a 23% price cut on its MSRP. However, it’s worth noting that this essentially returned this Air Plus to its original Indiegogo price, and this was only available on 100 units.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a brand reduce pricing to “clear” some outstanding stock to make way for its new range of products – and it certainly won’t be the last. Many of the biggest hardware companies in the world seem to follow a similar suit, reducing current gen hardware to pave the way for the upcoming next-gen series of hardware.
Alongside this, AYANEO continue to make noise about its new Pocket EVO, or as they’re dressing it up, the world’s first 7″ OLED Android handheld. We’re still waiting for official details on that particular product, however, some specifications have become available. You can keep yourself up to date with all the latest Pocket EVO updates via the Indiegogo page which offers an email signups for anyone wanting the latest updates.
