It’s almost an understatement to say that Black Myth: Wukong will be one of the most popular game releases of the past few years. The game has been at the top of Steam wishlists, and a promotional offer with RTX 40 series GPUs also puts it on the map (not that it really needed the extra publicity). Anyway, the game is out in just a few days, with many players eager to get a closer look at reviews before they buy.
For us PC players, this isn’t a problem, because it seems like Black Myth: Wukong reviews will be exclusively for the PC version – at least for the initial batch. Sure, the gameplay is the same across the board and that should suffice as far as reviewing it goes – but it’s the performance that we’ll be most interested in, in case the recent free benchmark tool doesn’t quite cover everything it needs to.
Only PC version codes are being sent out for Black Myth: Wukong reviews
According to a post from eXtas1stv, a known leaker, “Black Myth: Wukong reviews are EXCLUSIVELY for the PC version”. This is an interesting choice on Sony’s part given the fact that the game will simultaneously be launching on PS5 on August 20th. The Xbox Series X/S version does not yet have a release date. This post is backed up by Push Square, which asks its readers “where’s our Black Myth: Wukong PS5 Review?”, going on to explain they have also yet to get a PS5 version code.

Reports say that PS5 codes have yet to be distributed, sparking some discussion online about whether the game may have some performance issues on the popular Sony console. That will have to remain speculation for now though, but it does leave players – especially those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation – in limbo regarding how it runs.
For PC gamers, you can pre-purchase Black Myth: Wukong on Steam right now, or check out the benchmark tool if you want to test the performance of the game just ahead of release.
