Capcom has published its financial results for Q2 2026, including results for the entire first half of the current fiscal year. The Japanese video game giant says revenue and profit are up year-over-year, with ‘Digital Contents’ driving the most earnings. In other words, game sales are way up, as opposed to the company’s physical arcade and amusement business operations.

“Continued sales growth in the Resident Evil series” has driven earnings up, says Capcom, and this is obvious from the numbers being posted. Monster Hunter: World, however, remains the top seller in lifetime sales (it has been out since early 2018), but the sheer number of Resident Evil titles, a mixture of new entries and remakes, has helped Capcom hit record-breaking sales.

Capcom game sales as of H1 2026

Results for the first half of the 2026 fiscal year are in. As far as the ‘Digital Contents’ section goes, Capcom says it can celebrate the “Highest-ever Total and Catalog unit sales for an H1 period” – the majority of which are Resident Evil titles. The biggest seller in the series is the Resident Evil 2 remake, with more than 20 million units sold, while the RE4 Remake trails.

Interestingly, the very latest Monster Hunter title, Monster Hunter Wilds, isn’t directly referenced in the unit sales ranking, but Capcom does highlight a massive 132 million units sold across the series as a whole. Even so, Resident Evil holds the title as the best-selling series with 218 million units, while Street Fighter comes in at 60 million.
