ChatGPT is a powerful tool that can be used in a variety of ways. From students and professionals to creatives and developers, everyone can make use of ChatGPT to enhance their work. That said, like every software, ChatGPT also receives updates, which increases its capacity to understand and solve complex problems.
You can create your own 3D game using ChatGPT’s o1 preview (and a 2D game equally well) or create stunning sceneries using DALL E. That said, in a recent update, it seems like ChatGPT has moved up a level and can now message you asking about your day and possibly even other professional or personal matters. On the not-so-bright side though, AI keeping track of all your conversations is a slightly scary thought.
ChatGPT will ask you about your day, if you like
A post by u/SentuBill on the r/ChatGPT subreddit showcased a screenshot in which ChatGPT asked them about their first week of school and how they settled in. This was surprising as this had never occurred before unless you specified the chatbot to message at a certain time, but messaging first out of the blue was unheard of.
This is most likely a feature they are A/B testing, and we’re not sure if they are selecting random users or whether there is a criteria as there hasn’t been any official word from OpenAI. That said, you can read the entire conversation titled “High School Experience Inquiry.”
Another Redditor also commented in this post, stating they had also received a similar message but of a different nature. They had asked about health symptoms and then received a message from ChatGPT asking how they were feeling and how the symptoms were progressing.
This is certainly a step forward in the AI world, and with time, we could even see ChatGPT replacing Alexa or other digital assistants, but it might be met with some backlash. If ChatGPT is messaging you first and remembers details you asked about last week, it could be a privacy concern, raising the question, what else is ChatGPT storing?
