What is Rogue Core all about?
The game sends players into the deepest parts of Hoxxes after a mysterious event called “The Grayout” cuts off all communication with mining operations. Unlike the original game, Rogue Core focuses heavily on roguelite progression. Every mission begins with only basic gear, and players must slowly build powerful loadouts during each run.

Players will explore dangerous underground environments filled with hostile creatures known as the Core Spawn. These enemies are said to be smarter, more aggressive, and tougher than anything previously seen in the Deep Rock Galactic universe. To survive, players will need to scavenge weapons, gather resources, and unlock upgrades while working closely with teammates. The devs say Rogue Core will “explore a different pace and playstyle” that focuses more on combat.
The game supports four-player co-op, with teamwork playing a major role in survival. Players can experiment with different builds, weapons, and enhancements during each run, making every mission feel different. The developers are also promising procedurally generated caves, class customization, character progression, and endless combinations of upgrades to keep gameplay fresh.
One of the biggest additions is the new Reclaimer equipment and advanced weaponry designed specifically for this elite squad. The deeper players travel underground, the more dangerous things become. The developers have also been very clear that this is only the beginning for the game. According to the team, the Early Access version is meant to serve as a foundation that will continue evolving based on community feedback.
They explained that while comparisons to the original Deep Rock Galactic are expected, it’s important to remember that the first game has enjoyed nearly a decade of development behind it. Rogue Core is still at the start of its journey, and the studio already has a large list of ideas planned for future updates.
