DJI Matrice 5 Series drone has its specs leaked ahead of big announcement, here’s how it compares to last gen
Table of Contents
DJI hasn’t announced anything official just yet, but we have our first look at an upcoming DJI Matrice 5 Series drone thanks to a new leak. A summary of key specifications has been shared alongside various photos of the new high-end option. For those out of the loop, the Matrice series is DJI’s enterprise-grade drone lineup built for commercial and other heavy-duty applications.
The newly leaked specs come from an often reliable source of DJI (and other drone) news, who goes by the name of Igor Bogdanov, or @Quadro_News on X. Along with the new DJI Matrice 5 Series leaks, they’ve also been sharing details about the DJI Dock 4, which reportedly features three batteries, with a quick battery replacement process that takes around 25 seconds.
DJI Matrice 5 specs leaked
The leaked specs appear to succeed the DJI Matrice 4T, rather than the cheaper Matrice 4E. The same source previously posted an image of the supposed Matrice 5TD and its new dock. The biggest claimed upgrades are a higher-resolution thermal camera (now double its predecessor), a more powerful zoom system, 4K colour night-vision video, and a longer-range laser rangefinder.

As seen in the quick specs comparison above, the new Matrice 5 Series drone offers upgrades across the board. We may soon be able to confirm these details too, as DJI will be making a big announcement later today (October 14), at 8 AM EDT / 12 PM GMT.
Under the tagline “Always There, Always Ready,” the company has teased a special reveal, which seems to hint at the Dock 4 with quick battery swapping. A leaked video of the battery replacement functionality has already been shared on X as well. We’ll have to wait and see if there’s any mention of the Matrice 5 Series in the reveal; as for now, the focus seems to be on the dock.
