It is a little later than the originally projected September release date. Unless this one is just a placeholder.

It’s well known that AMD’s 800 series motherboards are set to be launched soon, if this listing is to be trusted, it could be as soon as early next month. It is a little strange that AMD didn’t opt to launch them side-by-side with the new 9000 series, but looking back they had enough fires to put out there as it was. The new X870 chipset we think will be the first to hit shelves, and a recent leak confirms our suspicions.

Prolific leaker @momomo_US on X has shared a screen grab of a listing on Amazon FR, that listing is none other than the GIGABYTE X870 AORUS Elite WIFI7. The marketing specifically outlines its compatibility with the Ryzen 9000 series, so we know it’s not a haphazard unintentional publish of a placeholder page as it contains up-to-date accurate information.

As it turns out, this item is available on German Amazon, and has a UK listing, although the UK listing is marked as “Currently Unavailable” The Price listed on the German Amazon is currently cheaper than the French one at €323, compared to the €340.

There now appear to be multiple motherboards listed on multiple Amazon’s across Europe. Below is the same motherboard but in white.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t bring us any closer to knowing the official release date, but the fact that both of these European listings state a delivery between the 8th and 11th of October could be a hint at a possible release date.

This listing gives us more of a look at the product that we haven’t had since Computex. It seems as though the X870 Aorus will support 8000 MHz memory, though we do not know whether that is stock or OC. And Amazon information isn’t always the most accurate information in the world.

Apparently, the Aorus motherboards boast a very robust 16+2+2 twin digital phase power design, and that makes sense given how much the 9950X can draw with PBO. If you have the cooling to support it, it’s a good choice given the improvements to processing power that PBO can bring.

As to whether or not you can buy this Motherboard and have something delivered, you’d have to try it. We sadly are not focused in Europe and we probably wouldn’t get an answer until October anyway.
