GTA VI is, no doubt, going to be one of the biggest games of the decade. You may have heard that Rockstar Games recently delayed the 2025 release date, pushing it back to May 26, 2026. Following that, a brand-new trailer has been released, giving fans of the franchise a closer look at the game’s graphics, characters, and a little more storyline to dig into.

Trailer 2 also confirms that the latest entry to the GTA series won’t be coming to PC at launch, instead only detailing that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be supported on May 26th next year. Unless anything drastic changes within this timeframe, we expect this to hold true. Some may have hoped the delay was to cater for PC, but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 gives us a closer look at the storyline

The first trailer for the game has already gotten over 250 million views on YouTube, so we expect the follow-up to quickly catch up. The new release date seems fairly set in stone this time around, so fans have just over a year to wait before they can get their hands on GTA 6. The trailer gives us a little more context about two key characters, Jason and Lucia, who look to be involved in the game’s primary story; footage is captured on PS5.

Aside from that, the visuals are stunning and possibly point towards a ray-traced-focused future for Grand Theft Auto. We should clarify that no technical details have been confirmed yet. However, we’ve seen a growing number of games relying on the real-time lighting and reflections technology, such as the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages, though the demand on many systems is something developers need to balance carefully.

GTA V already got its Enhanced upgrade a couple of months ago, bringing visual upgrades such as ray tracing, ambient occlusion, and global illumination. It also provided support for FSR, DLSS, and higher resolutions and framerates, which are achievable on PC. Since we don’t know when GTA VI will be coming to PC, we’ll have to wait and see what graphics settings support will be available at launch on current-gen consoles. In the meantime, we look forward to any more GTA 6 content Rockstar is willing to reveal.
