LG’s new UltraGear gaming monitor with up to 1100Hz refresh rate is now up for preorder

LG has opened pre-orders for a new UltraGear gaming monitor that pushes refresh rates to levels we’ve rarely seen in consumer displays. The 25G590B is a 25-inch Full HD monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate, while an overclocked mode can take it as high as 1100Hz.
The huge refresh rate is clearly aimed at competitive gamers, especially those playing fast-paced FPS titles. LG says the 25-inch size is popular in esports because players can see the entire screen without moving their eyes as much. The monitor uses an IPS panel and includes Motion Blur Reduction Pro, which is designed to make quickly moving objects easier to track. It also supports both Nvidia G-Sync compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium, although there are some limitations when certain features are enabled.
The headline 1000Hz refresh rate, however, comes with some serious requirements. LG says reaching 1000Hz requires Windows 11, DisplayPort 2.1, and a fairly modern graphics card, such as an Nvidia RTX 50-series GPU or AMD’s RX 9070, RX 9060, or RX 7900 series and newer.

And even with the right hardware, actually reaching 1000 frames per second is another matter. A monitor can refresh 1000 times per second, but your gaming PC needs to produce an equally high frame rate to make full use of it. That’s simply not realistic in demanding AAA games. Even many competitive games would require a very powerful PC and carefully tuned settings to get anywhere near 1000 FPS.
The 1100Hz mode is even more extreme, as it is an overclocked setting rather than the monitor’s standard refresh rate. LG also warns that Adaptive-Sync functionality can be limited at 1100Hz, with FreeSync Premium unavailable and G-Sync compatibility certified only at 1000Hz.
Beyond the refresh rate, the 25G590B includes dual HDMI ports, DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR 20 support, a four-pole headphone connection, an FPS counter, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound designed to make voices and important game sounds easier to pick out.
That said, LG UltraGear 25G590B is now available for pre-order for $999.99 in the US, making it an extremely expensive option despite using a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Customers who pre-order by August 31, 2026, can also get two years of LG Premium Care for $1 and earn 5% back in MyLG Rewards.
