Limited edition Black Ops 7 RX 9070 XT announced with just 1,000 units, here’s how the GPU should perform

ASUS has joined forces with AMD and Call of Duty to release a new Black Ops 7-themed graphics card. With just 1,000 units available, this will no doubt be a collector’s item; it will be shipped to select retailers and comes bundled with a digital copy of the standard version of the game. The GPU in question is the RX 9070 XT, the best Radeon card on the market right now.
There’s less than a month until the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. There’s been a new COD launch every year for two decades, but what makes Black Ops 7 one to watch is its rivalry with the newly-launched Battlefield 6. Activision has already run its Black Ops 7 beta, even extending it for an extra day earlier this month, and it’s going to be interesting to see how the launch pans out when faced with a direct rival.

Is the RX 9070 XT good for Black Ops 7?
It should go without saying that AMD’s latest flagship graphics card, the RX 9070 XT, will be a great pick for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. There’s no reason why ASUS would release a limited edition GPU like this if it wasn’t. Luckily, we can look at performance statistics from the games’ beta phase to gauge how well it will perform. Of course, these do not reflect the exact numbers we’ll see on launch day, but it’s a solid guide so far. The good news is that Black Ops 7 has already been shown to be AMD-favored.

In these benchmarks sourced from German publication ComputerBase, we can see that the RX 9070 XT even outperforms the RTX 5070 Ti. The graph above is for 1440p, but it pulls ahead of the rival Nvidia card at all resolutions tested. What should be noted, however, is that these are not native benchmarks – instead, there is some upscaling involved. FSR 4 and DLSS 4 were used for the RX 9070 and RTX 5070 Ti, respectively, both set to quality mode with 1.5x upscaling.
Just like with Black Ops 6, its sequel looks to be well-tuned for AMD hardware. That’s not surprising, considering they both use the IW Engine. It makes a lot of sense why ASUS has partnered with AMD for this graphics card launch rather than Nvidia.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14. PC gamers can now pre-order the game on Steam, Battle.net, and Xbox (Microsoft Store). It will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
