Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in the long-time Capcom franchise, and it has enjoyed a massive amount of success, becoming the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s history. However, it isn’t without its problems. For PC players, the performance has been far from ideal, out of reach of devices like the Steam Deck. Luckily, MH Wilds is now available on cloud gaming services such as GeForce Now, but performance issues continue to plague players.

Even still, the game continues to be one of the most played titles on Steam. And today, March 25, the developers have released a roadmap of what’s to come. Sadly, there is no mention of optimization at all – one of the key reasons why the game still holds Mixed reviews on Steam. We saw plenty of people asking Capcom to optimize the game during the showcase live stream, but no dice.

Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase for March 2025

The good news is that MH Wilds is getting a free update this Spring; the first couple of updates are coming on April 3 (PDT) / April 4 (BST) and include new monsters, outfits, quests, and a new Grand Hub. This free title update will be followed by a seasonal event, Arch-tempered Rey Dau monster, and an end-of-May update with “a collaboration with another Capcom title,” though this remains a mystery for now.

It was also revealed that there will be a second title update coming to Monster Hunter Wilds in Summer 2025. While details about this are limited for the moment, Capcom promises an additional monster alongside a seasonal event.

Sadly, with no mention of optimization or performance issues, we can only assume that players with lower-end hardware will continue to struggle on PC. For reference, the game’s recommended system requirements are based on 1080p / 60 FPS with frame generation enabled, suggesting an RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600.
