MSI Claw just got a new Center M update for all models, includes fix for broken TDP slider
Table of Contents
Like most handhelds, the MSI Claw has a central application for all your settings and optimization tools. This covers aspects of handheld gaming that normal PC gamers don’t have to worry about, such as controlling performance modes to tinker with the TDP (Thermal Design Power) of the device and extend the battery life.
MSI unveiled Center M 2.0 at the start of the year. The latest version, which is now available for download, is v2.0.2507.2801, and it comes with a few improvements. You can either download it now on the Center M app or wait for it to appear on the official support page – “available later”.
MSI Center M v2.0.2507.2801 released on August 1
The new version of MSI Center M has already been pushed via Live Update and is available on the MSI Claw A8, Claw 8 AI+ (original and Polar Tempest Edition), the Claw 7 AI+, and the original MSI Claw. That covers all models to date. The most notable change is a fix to a bug that prevented users from changing the TDP slider through the quick settings menu.
Updates & Enhancements
- Fixed an issue where the User Scenario UI was incomplete on first launch.
- Resolved an issue where changes to the TDP slider in Quick Settings were not applied.
- Adjusted Voice Input to launch only after exiting Quick Settings, preventing functional conflict.
Feature and Specification Adjustments
- Updated the warning message in Quick Settings – Manual Mode to better reflect real-world usage impact.
Known Issues (To be fixed in the next release)
- On Claw 7 / Claw 8 AI+ models, the TDP slider for PL2 in Quick Settings may not apply correctly.

The most recently released model is the MSI Claw A8, the first handheld to be powered by the new AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. While it’s not yet available in the U.S., it has been on sale in China for a few weeks and recently became available in Europe, so people have started to get their hands on it. Importantly, Z2 Extreme benchmarks now tell us what to expect from this generation of handhelds, considering the upcoming Legion Go 2 and ROG Xbox Ally X both feature the Z2E chip.
