New Android Handset Releases due this month

No Google Pixel 6?

Last Updated on

Nokia X50 is apparently being positioned to replace the Nokia 9 PureView with a launch event slated for September/October. It’s looking like the new Nokia will have a 6.5-inch display, a Snapdragon 700 series hardware, and have a 108-MP camera array. Nokia is yet to announce the existence of the Nokia X50.

There are normally a few Android market handset releases dotted around the year, with September being no exception. Whilst rumors would have us all believe Google would be launching their Pixel 6/Pixel 6 pro a day before the new iPhone 13 event in a few days, it’s not looking more like mid-October. There have also been rumblings of both a Google Pixel and budget Samsung foldable handsets, but we can take those claims with a pinch of salt (for now)

With that being said, we have a new OEM flagship launch alongside a headset with variable refresh rates. There’s also an interesting mid-range offering from India that’s set to bring some cool features as standard into the mid-range market. Let’s get into it:

Vivo X70 series

Launching on September 9th in China and September 10th worldwide, The Vivo X70 series comprises the X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+. The Vivo X70 Pro+ will serve as the Android market OEMs new flagship, the X70 and X70 Pro are set to dominate the budget market. The three Android market handsets will launch with Zeiss optics, Origin OS (Modified version of Android 11) amongst other quality of life improvements.

JioPhone Next

Launching September 10th, Jiophone is set to dominate the Indian Android market with its custom Android OS. Developed in conjunction with Google, Jio aims to bring the best features of Android and their in-house developed apps. It will also support the latest Android updates, with a big focus on translation. Jio is promising a one-button tap translation option for web pages, apps, messages, and photos.

Mi 11T and 11T Pro

We know that the Mi 11T and 11T pro handsets are due to launch VERY soon. Xiaomi has announced their next launch event on September 15th, with bets on both handsets launching in the Android marketplace not long after. Looking to rock 120Hz displays alongside the 11t and 11T Pro housing Dimensity 1200 and Snapdragon 888 Octa-core CPUs, Xiaomi is one to watch this September.
