New sales report confirms AMD’s continued dominance in the CPU sector

More good news for AMD this week, as new sales figures from a popular German retailer have confirmed the brand’s dominance over Intel throughout January.
It’s no surprise that Intel has been on a bit of a downward spiral since last year’s instability issues across its 13th & 14th Gen CPU lineups. Bill Gates even came out recently saying he hopes the once “state of the art” chip maker will make a full recovery, with new reports showing a lackluster 8% CPU sales share from one popular German retailer.

TechEpiphany has, once again, shared eye-catching sales figures from Mindfactory, this time showcasing a pretty hefty lead for AMD. In fact, from the circa 25,000 CPUs sold at the German retailer, only 2,010 of them (or 7.8%) were Intel’s.
AMD’s new X3D parts continue to dominate at the top end of the sales report, with the 9800X3D, 7600X3D, and 780X3D, accounting for well over 10,000 units sold. The most popular CPU from Intel is the Intel Core i5-14600KF, which at the time of writing, sold in the region of 150 units.
The future is bright for AMD
It comes as no surprise that AMD is leaps ahead of Intel in CPU sales this year, with the brand’s Intel Core Ultra Series not landing well with tier 1 reviewers. In fact, many were pretty offended by the performance of the cards, despite their new-found efficiency levels.
AMD, on the other hand, offered up one of the best gaming CPUs of the year in its Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which continues to be regularly out of stock due to massive demand. AMD was even quoted saying the reasons they were so low on stock was due to the poor competition.
Team Red’s new GPU lineup is set to launch in the coming weeks, and it’ll be interesting to see if the hottest brand on the market can continue into the GPU space – which right now is dominated by Nvidia.
