Noctua says “feel free” to 3D print your own Noctua fans after releasing public CAD models online
As revealed in an official post on X, Noctua says it now offers public 3D CAD models of “all our fans” – each and every one free to download. These 3D models are intended for mechanical design, renderings, and animations, though the company openly says “feel free” to use them for creating your own Noctua fans, albeit with a disclaimer.
If you have the engineering knowhow to turn the 3D prints into a functional product, then you’re welcome to do so using the CAD models provided by Noctua. However, as you may expect, there is no kind of warranty attached – Noctua notes that it doesn’t warrant that CAD models are “error-free or suitable for any specific application”.
3D printing your own Noctua fans?
Noctua says the 3D CAD models are provided “solely for reference, visualisation, and integration purposes,” adding that they may not be used for manufacturing or reproduction. The key part is that these cannot be commercialized in any way, and any modifications you make are at your own risk. The full disclaimer can be seen below.

Of course, you shouldn’t be able to directly profit from Noctua’s own designs, but the fact that there is now a library of 3D CAD models available for free simply feels like a good deed from the Austrian company. 3D CAD files can be found on Noctua’s downloads page alongside other content, such as instruction/installation manuals and information sheets. The company also has an official account on the popular 3D printing site Printables, with some models already hosted there too.
