Despite delays, benchmarks for the new RTX 5060 laptops are beginning to emerge. Though there isn't yet much solid information on what we can expect from these laptops, early benchmark scores can provide a glimpse into the level of performance.

Laptops with -60 suffix GPUs have long been popular since they have all the latest features, but tend to run cooler and require less power than the more powerful GPUs further up the product stack. Power efficiency and thermal throttling are far more of a concern in a laptop, where the components are squeezed into a much smaller shell.

RTX 5060 laptop benchmarks arrive on Geekbench

RTX 5060 laptops are not yet widely available, but some models have now been added to Geekbench, just like 5070 laptops did last week. These have been tested on OpenCL, providing an excellent opportunity to do a like-for-like comparison. Two listings have appeared, one paired with the older Intel Core i9-13900HX, and the other using the newer Intel Core Ultra 9 285H.

GPUOpenCL Score
RTX 5090 Laptop202,444
RTX 5080 Laptop185,435
RTX 5070 Ti Laptop156,300
RTX 5070 Laptop136,800
RTX 5060 Laptop109,431
RTX 4070 Laptop109,068

For this comparison, we used the Colorful P15 Pro score, which was higher than the Core Ultra 9 laptop. As we can see, using this comparison, the RTX 5060 just barely clears the score set by the previous generation RTX 4070, and trails considerably behind both versions of the RTX 5070. These numbers are sourced from Geekbench’s OpenCL leaderboard.

Since the results are even worse for the Core Ultra 9 version, which posted a score of 102,564, below the RTX 4070 for last generation. This is, however, a single benchmark using a synthetic benchmark. It is unknown at this stage how this will translate to real-world scenarios.
