AI is quickly becoming a major part of game development on Roblox, and the company says the technology is already being used by most of the platform’s biggest creators. In a new letter to shareholders, Roblox revealed that more than 80% of its top 100 games used AI tools during the past month to help speed up development.
The figure is based on Roblox’s 100 biggest games ranked by hours engaged. According to the company, developers are using AI for several parts of the creation process, including generating code, creating assets, and automating other development work. Roblox believes this is significantly reducing the amount of time needed to turn an idea into a playable game.
AI usage also appears to be growing quickly across the platform. Roblox says the number of assets uploaded to its cloud each day tripled month-over-month. Since Q2, the amount of time its top creators spend using AI tools has also tripled. This includes Roblox’s own Build and Studio Assistant tools, as well as external AI services connected through MCP.

AI has been an integral part of Roblox for a few years already
Roblox has been adding AI features to its development tools for several years, with Studio Assistant first arriving in December 2023. Its newer Build tool takes the idea even further by allowing users to create games using prompts. Since Build entered alpha testing in New Zealand, Singapore, Serbia, and Thailand, Roblox says more than 500,000 people have used it, resulting in over 70,000 published games.
The company also highlighted examples showing that AI-created games are already finding large audiences. Break and Steal an Egg and Huss Valley were reportedly created almost entirely using AI during Q3. Both managed to enter Roblox’s top 20 games when ranked by concurrent players, showing that AI-assisted development isn’t limited to small experimental projects.
Roblox also says daily usage of its MCP server among creators has increased nearly fivefold since Q2, further showing how quickly developers are adopting external AI tools.
