RX 9070 XT listing appears online as AMD says “stay tuned” for an announcement in “near future”

AMD fans are excited about the upcoming RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards. While these GPUs were not officially announced at CES 2025, they were mentioned in a pre-briefing prepared for the event. However, AMD did not reveal any details about their specifications, pricing, or release date.
Because of this, people have been relying on leaks and rumors to get more information. And now, a new listing has surfaced online, hinting at a possible launch date. This comes just as AMD has mentioned in an interview that the new Radeon launch deserves its own event.
RX 9070 XT’s launch date revealed in new retailer listing
A well-known hardware leaker, Momomo_us, recently spotted a product listing for the RX 9070 XT. The listing appeared online briefly before it was removed. However, the leaker managed to take a screenshot before it was taken down, but it does suggest that retailers are preparing for the launch of the RX 9070 series GPUs.

In addition to this, the RX 9070 XT also appeared on Geizhals, a popular price aggregation website that is linked to various German review sites. According to the website, the RX 9070 XT could launch on January 24, 2025.
With the new listing and the possible release date just a week away, we should hear more from AMD – possibly in the next few days, if the launch date is accurate. On that note, VideoCardz recently revealed that AMD will host an event for the new Radeon GPU launch soon.
“All I can say about Radeon is that what we have said is what we can say. We think it deserve its own time in the spotlight, and at CES, things can get kind of washed under a massive amount of information. So stay tuned; it won’t be a long time before you’d be hearing more about it in the near future.”
Donny Woligroski, AMD Senior Processor Technical Marketing Manager
In any case, the RX 9070 and 9070 XT are expected to offer 16 GB of VRAM. Based on early listings, it looks like the XT variant will have a clock speed of 2,520 MHz, a boost clock speed of 3,060 MHz, and 4,096 stream processors. It’s great to see that AMD is introducing this much VRAM in their mid-range cards, as Nvidia’s upcoming high-end card, the RTX 5080, also has 16 GB of VRAM, while the 5070 sticks to 12GB.
An admin on Chiphell, nApoleon, also warned people not to preorder the RTX 50 series cards after they leaked early tests showing the RX 9070 XT outperforming the RTX 4080 Super. This could mean that the two mid-range cards from AMD might turn out to be better options than some competitors.
