Among PC builders and gaming fans, AMD CPUs with the ‘X3D' suffix are particularly desired due to the gaming performance boost they can provide. Prices for these chips are coming down, but users in some regions still face a struggle to buy one.

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D tends to stand on top of lists of ‘Best Gaming CPUs' for a good reason. The X3D suffix indicates the presence of a stacked 3D cache, which can improve performance in many gaming scenarios. This makes it an ideal pick for a high-end gaming PC.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D price is on a downward trend in Europe

For customers in Europe, the price of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has been slowly coming down. The latest data provided by tech blogger TechEpiphany shows that the price has now dipped below €500 in Europe; the chip is available for €489.39 at German retailer Mindfactory at the time of writing. This makes it an attractive option for those looking for an upgrade or a new build.

Unfortunately, customers in the USA are not quite so lucky. At popular online retailers Newegg, several listings for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D show the CPU as being out of stock, though they do restock from time to time. Even the motherboard bundle containing an ASUS ROG Strix X870-E board and Ryzen 9800X3D is listed as out of stock, as is the refurbished version of the chip.

Newegg does have a listing for the ‘International' version of the CPU, but not only does this have to ship all the way from Hong Kong, but it also costs a premium, priced at $799 compared to the $519 for the standard model, or $479 for the refurbished version. The processor is also regularly out of stock at Amazon.

As trade tariffs begin to bite, customers in the USA might find they have to pay higher prices, or be faced with empty store shelves as retailers and consumers decide the price hikes are not worth it.
