A CPU sales report shared online gives us a clear look at what PC gamers are buying right now in the United States. The latest report covers Amazon US retail CPU sales for October 2025, and, just as in the past few months, AMD continues to dominate the charts. Intel, on the other hand, fails to make it into the top 10 for DIY PC builders.
According to the report, AMD sold a total of 52,800 CPUs, making up 83.8% of all CPU sales on Amazon US in October. Intel’s numbers were much lower, with only 10,200 CPUs sold, or 16.2% of the total market. As for revenue, AMD processors brought in $14,364,406.50, a stark contrast to Intel’s $3,147,928.00. The average selling price for AMD chips was $272.05, while Intel’s was slightly higher at $308.62.

Leading the charts was the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which sold ~8,000 units and continues to be one of the most popular gaming CPUs thanks to its strong performance and excellent efficiency. Right behind it was the current-gen Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which also sold ~8,000 units. This shows that the last two generations of AMD’s X3D chips are in high demand, mainly because of their impressive gaming performance and cache design that gives them an edge over Intel’s processors for gaming.
In third place was the Ryzen 5 5500, with 5,000 units sold. This chip remains a favorite among budget gamers who are still building on the older AM4 platform. In fact, the report shows that 22,700 AM4 CPUs were sold, proving that the platform is still going strong even nine years after its launch. Meanwhile, the newer AM5 platform sold 30,100 CPUs.
The report also breaks down sales between CPUs with and without integrated graphics. Out of all AMD CPUs sold, 15,850 didn’t include integrated GPUs, while 36,950 did. For Intel, 4,650 CPUs were sold without integrated chips, and 5,550 had on-board graphics.
