Black Friday deals are rolling in, and as usual brands are battling for our attention. When it comes to ultrawide monitors, it seems that this year has a clear winner when it comes to some of the most eye-catching savings and impressive offerings.
Samsung has seemingly gone all-in with ultrawide monitor deals this year, discounting a wide range of its products. I’ve been covering Black Friday for coming up to six years now, and I can tell you that some of the biggest and most enticing savings are usually found with Samsung ultrawide displays. In the past, its Odyssey series in particular, have seen enormous discounts that I think were well worth people’s time.
I’ve selected my top three Samsung monitors that I think give you the best value for money, and have chosen options for different usages and budgets. First up we’ve got what I’d say is the best ultrawide monitor for most people, and for the price you’re getting a lot here. While it’s not uncommon nowadays to get a monitor with 240hz WQHD, what isn’t as common is having a VESA Display HDR1000 at this discounted price point. Typically, most monitors this big will have a lower rating and therefore it won’t be as bright, vibrant, or have as much contrast. This is a real win for anyone who want their games to look their best, but it also helps if you’re using it in a bright room. Don’t be caught off guard by the 1000 nit peak brightness however. This is usually measured in a small area of the screen, not the whole thing, so in reality it will be less.
This is huge monitor, but it has a few features that make it easy to position and manouver. Namely, its stand height adjustable and can swivel and tilt too, so you can find the perfect angle for you. The other thing that’s great is its smaller base, which stops it from taking up too much desk real-estate. That’s a good thing, and something that’s becoming increasingly common nowadays with gaming monitors.
On the performance side, you’ve got 240hz, 1m response time, and FreeSync Premium Pro, which together should result in ultra smooth visuals, with lower chances of screen tearing.
This monitor is currently at it’s lowest price ever on Amazon, according to camelcamelcamel, and I think if you’re looking for something that’ll do it all, but without costing the earth, this is a great shout this Black Friday.

If you’re going for an OLED ultrawide monitor, this would be pick of the bunch. This gaming monitor is pretty much identical to the previous option, but it has an incredible OLED display. What that means is that panel itself has self-illuminating pixels, meaning that when they go black, they actually ‘turn off’. Since there’s no backlight behind it, it means that blacks are super black, which makes its contrast second to none.
This is great if you’re playing in lower light environments, or if you want your games to look more realistic. In well-lit rooms, it may be a little dim, but with a DisplayHDR 400 rating, you should be getting at least 400 nits of brightness, which from experience is more than enough for even the brightest environments.
One difference between this and the previous selection is its curvature, as this is 1800r. Confusingly, the higher the number the less the curvature, so this is good if you want something you can use for work or watching movies too.
Overall, it’s a brilliant monitor that’s at one of its lowest prices ever on Amazon, although it did go slightly lower a while back. This could indicate that it may drop further still in the Cyber Monday sales, but if it does, I don’t predict it’ll be by anything meaningful.

Finally, for a real show-stopper option, you’ve got this behemoth. With $1000 off, this is huge deal and hard to ignore if you’re looking for real statement piece for you setup. It’s mini-LED monitor with a DisplayHDR 1000 rating, plus a 240hz refresh rate. On top of that, this is actually dual 4K UHD, meaning it’s essentially two 4K monitors stitched together. It even claimed the title of world’s first in this category.
Now this monitor isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure, and if you’re using it for gaming you’ll want to make sure you have a rig powerful enough to take advantage of its resolution and refresh rate. That being said if you do, you’ll be in for the ultimate in immersive gaming. Personally, I’d go for something like this if you’re playing flight simulators or any racing games.
This monitor is also at its lowest price on Amazon right now, making a great time to buy. Just make sure you’ve got enough space for it!
