In the world of handheld gaming PCs, the Steam Deck is safely one of the most popular on the market. Despite being passed by the likes of the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go (at least as far as raw performance goes), Valve’s handheld remains highly relevant, and accessories for the device are popular with owners.

The creator of Deckmate has a new product to add to your wishlist. The Deckmate is a grip for the Steam Deck that allows you to easily attach peripherals such as a kickstand, mobile phone, or power banking. And now, to go along with it, you can buy a GoPro Mount on the Mechanism website.

GoPro Mount for Steam Deck now available

The GoPro mount has now been listed and is “designed for static loads only”. In other words, don’t go skydiving with your Deck. It’s important to note that the GoPro Mount will require a grip to go along with it, so we recommend picking up Mechanism’s ‘Deckmate’ grip first.

As for what you can use the GoPro mount for; basically anything compatible with it. The product listing demonstrates the Deck being attached to a GoPro-compatible tripod, a clamped stand, a chest-mounted strap, or even a strapped to your head – not that we see much use for this, but it’s nice to know it’s possible.

The Deckmate is a popular choice of grip, with plenty of positive reviews left on the site. As for the GoPro mount, it’s too new to know how people feel about it – there are no reviews at the time of writing. However, just by looking at the utility it offers, we imagine it will be a hit for the right customer. Mechanism clarifies that not all GoPro-compatible accessories are designed to support the weight of a Steam Deck, so ensure what you plan to mount the device to offers enough support.
