You may have heard last month that the Steam Deck OLED sold out in the United States, with Valve later blaming shortages on a lack of available memory and storage components. Well, you’ll be glad to know that the OLED model is back in stock, but don’t expect it to last very long. It’s also not a brand-new model, but rather one of Valve’s ‘Certified Refurbished’ variants.

These refurbished models are thoroughly tested to a high standard and should only have “minor cosmetic blemishes” at worst. Better yet, they’re up to 20% cheaper, with the in-stock 512GB OLED model currently retailing for $439, rather than the full $549 price tag you’ll pay for a brand-new one. As we said, we expect the refurb to be quickly snapped up.

Steam Deck OLED back in stock, LCD was spotted in stock earlier, too

At the time of writing, only the refurbished Steam Deck 512GB OLED is back in stock, while all three brand-new models remain unavailable. Even more regions suffered from shortages towards the end of February, too. We should also note that an X user by the name of Wario64 also snapped a screenshot with the 256GB LCD model in stock, too, but that has since disappeared.

So, it goes without saying that consumers are quick to eat up the limited amount of stock going around, and if you don’t mind picking up a refurbished model, there’s really no time to waste. Valve says refurbished models offer the same one-year warranty as a new Steam Deck, have a refurbished power supply, and come with a carrying case and Quick Start guide.

While Valve continues to battle Steam Deck shortages, we’re still waiting for its triple-header hardware launches in 2026. Namely, the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and new Steam Controller. All three were slated for an early 2026 release, but have since been pushed back with no real concrete date or window other than sometime this year.
