If you love horror games, then you’ll be pleased to know that a new indie game inspired by classics like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and (not-so-classic) Signalis has been announced. The game is called Liminal Point and promises creepy visuals, a haunting atmosphere, and thrilling survival gameplay. And the best part? It looks like Steam Deck support is a priority.

Liminal Point is being developed by HideWorks, a small indie studio. The game is set to deliver a classic survival horror experience, combining haunting environments, intense puzzles, and deadly enemies.

HideWorks is working on making Liminal Point fully playable on the Steam Deck

HideWorks, developers of the game, reveal that Steam Deck optimization is a priority. SteamDeckHQ was able to confirm that an unoptimized version of Liminal Point is already running at 30-45 FPS on the handheld, which is promising.

The developers also mentioned that the game will have full controller support, including compatibility with the Steam Deck. On X, HideWorks even stated that the Steam Deck is their “main testing platform”. This means they are likely aiming to make the game fully playable on Valve's handheld console before its release.

One key reason why the game should run smoothly on the Steam Deck is the way it loads and unloads data. For example, when a player moves from one room to another, the game unloads the previous room and loads the new one. This method reduces the strain on the hardware, making it easier for devices like the Steam Deck to handle the game without performance issues.

Based on the gameplay video shared by HideWorks on their X account, players will be able to use a range of different weapons against deadly enemies while wandering around abandoned areas. The video also confirms that along with regular enemies, there will be boss fights, which will surely be intense. At the moment, the developers have not confirmed an exact release date, but its Steam page claims that it will be released in 2026.
