What was yesterday’s Wordle? Here are the last 10 answers

The last 10 Wordle answers are THETA, WISPY, DEALT, RINSE, FOCUS, NIFTY, ASTER, DRYLY, BURST, and LIVEN.

While the game previously used a unique word every day, it should be noted that on February 2, 2026, the New York Times began reintroducing older words into the mix. The first was ‘CIGAR’ (the first-ever solution on Wordle, and the first answer when the NYT took over the game). Even so, don’t expect to see any of the last 10 to be repeated so soon.

Best starting words for Wordle

If today’s puzzle proved difficult, consider opening future games with words that cover common vowels and consonants, such as:

  • CRANE
  • SLATE
  • TRACE
  • AUDIO
  • STARE

These opening guesses can help eliminate letters quickly and improve your chances of solving the puzzle in fewer attempts. Personally, OCEAN is a go-to word, but it may be a little too vowel-heavy for some people’s liking.

Does Wordle get harder with time?

Wordle doesn’t inherently get harder. Some days, you’ll be able to guess it instantly; on others, you’ll be completely stuck. The challenge isn’t always the same, so daily puzzles vary in difficulty. Players who want a tougher challenge can turn on Hard Mode in the settings, which alters the rules to prevent tactics such as “throwaway” words.
