Valve fixes annoying DLC bug in latest Steam Client update

Table of Contents
Valve has released a new update for the Steam Client that fixes a few bugs that have been annoying users. The update is general and affects users on Windows, Linux, VR, and Steam Deck, with one specific fix to address a macOS issue.
Steam Users have been noticing that some games were failing to recognize when DLC had been installed. This issue seemed to affect both paid and free DLC. Understandably, it is frustrating when something you have paid for is not working. Thankfully, the Steam Client update is said to address this problem.
Latest Steam Client Update patch notes
General
- Fixed installed DLC not being recognized by some games.
- Fixed Steam client window not setting maximized state correctly at startup.
- Disable spellcheck suggestions for CD-Key input fields.
- Increase timeout before Steam will consider a steamwebhelper process unresponsive to reduce spurious failures when launch time is longer than expected.
macOS
Steam Community
- Fixed crash initializing the Steam Overlay in some games when using Parallels.
Other fixes in the update include addressing an issue where the Steam client window would not display properly in a maximised state at startup. The timeout window for SteamWebHelper has also been increased to ensure that Steam doesn't falsely report it as unresponsive on older or slower systems.
One other problem involved spellcheck of all things. Users trying to enter a CD key into the correct input field would have the automatic spellcheck try to ‘correct' the entry into a proper word, making users unable to enter the correct CD key. This has been resolved by simply disabling spellcheck in the CD-key input field.
Some macOS users had been reporting crashes when using the Steam Overlay in some games when using the ‘Parallels' virtual machine. Parallels is a product authorised by Microsoft that enables users to run a virtual copy of Windows. This lets macOS users play games that are not usually compatible with macOS. Thankfully, the update includes a fix for this problem as well.
This Steam Client Update is dated April 28th (released on the 29th in many time zones) and will automatically update the next time Steam is run, provided there is a stable internet connection. Further information is available on the Steam Community page.
