Valve just added way more startup movies for your Steam Deck, including Hades 2, Risk of Rain 2, and more
Table of Contents
Startup movies are a feature on SteamOS, or in Big Picture Mode, which launches a little movie every time you boot into the operating system. It gives devices like the Steam Deck (and upcoming Steam Machine or Steam Frame) a little more of a console feel – we’re all familiar with an iconic console startup movie, such as the much-parodied GameCube intro.
New additions to the store that we’re sure many people will be happy to see include Hades II and Risk of Rain 2 (as well as Risk of Rain Returns). There are plenty more games on the list, many you probably haven’t heard of, but it’s nice to see a diverse selection of games being represented.
Startup movies from games available on the Steam store
You can find Steam Startup Movies on the Points Shop here. Some startup movies are simply labeled as the name of the game they derive from, while others have a specific name to describe the video. Here’s a list of the games being represented in the selection of startup movies right now.

Some of these aren’t brand-new – we saw the Ragnarok, TLOU, and Harry Potter movies being added last year. But the full list of game-themed intros is above, excluding one that may be hidden from you. Someone has already pointed out on Reddit that it derives from a mature game, and as such, it may be marked as ‘Hidden’ if you don’t have the correct permissions on your account or require age verification in your region.
