You’ll be able to play your favorite classic GOG games for years to come thanks to latest Preservation Program

GOG has just announced that it will begin its Preservation Project this week, vowing to keep classic games alive for years to come. The project was announced recently, alongside a list of 100 games that are being re-released as part of the first wave of, well, preservation.
The project’s main goal is to “ensure classic games remain playable on modern systems”, which is a nice touch when you factor in how popular nostalgic games have become over the past decade. Better yet, GOG says it will continue to improve aging titles long after developers stop supporting them.

GOG has also released a Preserved Good Old Game video that explains why they’re doing it – which you can find below.
In the short preservation video, GOG state that they are actively updating older games – which they called Good Old Games – to be compatible with modern controllers, resolutions, and modern systems. On the GOG website, you’ll be able to search the extensive games library for these titles by selecting the “Good Old Games” filter in the sidebar.
