How To Move Apps To an SD Card
Table of Contents
While the latest phones come with plenty of storage space, the more photos, music, and apps you accumulate, the less storage space you will have. If you own an older device, then this storage space is even more scarce. Just because you are running out of memory, doesn't mean you need to fork out a lot more money on a new phone.
It is possible to move some of your apps across to an external memory card, and several Android devices even have micro SD card slots that will give you more storage space. This article is going to show you how you can move your apps across to an SD card on Android, and how you can free up space on your iPhone by transferring certain files over.

How to Move Files to an SD Card for iPhone
While iPhones do not have a MicroSD slot in their phones, you can still transfer files over to an SD card as long as you have a MicroSD adapter.
This adapter will need to connect to both your iPhone and the SD card in order for you to be able to move files across.
This short guide will show you how you can transfer files across, such as photos and videos, which will free up a lot of space on your phone.
Step
Plug in your SD card
Plug your SD card into your adapter, and plug your adapter into your iPhone.
Step
Open your Gallery
Open up your photo gallery, and tap ‘Select'.
Step
Select photos/videos
Then, tap on any photos or videos you would like to move across.
Step
Transfer files
Once you've selected the items, tap on the ‘Transfer' icon located on the bottom left of the phone screen.
Step
Select Save to Files
Select ‘Save to Files' from the menu that appears, and you will be able to see your SD card from a drop-down menu.
Step
Select Save
Tap on it, and select ‘Save' and the items will then save to your SD card.
Final Thoughts
Knowing how to free up storage space on your phone is essential in order for it to keep working properly, as your phone can begin to glitch if it is becomes too full – especially with older models.
When it comes to Android phones, if compatible with a MicroSD card, all apps may not be able to be transferred over. If this is the case, moving over some photos and videos will free up some space.
The same goes for iPhones and files that are able to be moved across. Juist don’t forget that you will need an adapter.
