Best Monster Hunter Wilds PC settings for max FPS

Table of Contents
Monster Hunter Wilds has finally been released, meaning everyone, including those who purchased the game on PC, can dive in. The game has a huge open world to explore, but you’ll need to use the right settings for smooth performance. Thankfully, unlike FPS games like Black Ops 6, where you need extremely high FPS, Monster Hunter Wilds is enjoyable at 60 FPS or higher.
However, keep in mind that the game is quite demanding if you want the best visuals. To help you out, I’ll walk you through the best settings I used to achieve over 60 FPS in Monster Hunter Wilds at 1440p on PC. These settings not only provided high FPS but also maintained stunning visual quality, offering a mixture of both.
What are the best Monster Hunter Wilds PC settings for high FPS and stunning visuals?
I tested Monster Hunter Wilds on my rig, which is equipped with an RTX 3080, Ryzen 5 5600X, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Even though the card is over four years old, it still holds its ground firmly in the latest games at high resolutions. Using the settings I’ve mentioned below, I was getting between 60 to 70 FPS at 1440p. The FPS did drop below 50 at some points, but that had something to do with the game’s optimization rather than the hardware.

I set the Texture Quality to medium since I wasn't getting above 60 FPS on high. However, if you have a GPU better than the RTX 3080, you can increase it to high. At 1080p, you can expect over 70 FPS with these settings, even without lowering the Texture Quality. But for 4K, if you’re using an RTX 3080 or an equivalent card, you’ll need to keep it at medium and lower everything else to medium as well for smooth performance.

Additional tips to improve performance in Monster Hunter Wilds
Along with using the settings mentioned above, you should follow these additional tips to improve the performance.
- Update GPU drivers: Make sure you have the latest version of the GPU driver installed. Outdated drivers can cause different performance issues, and can even cause the game to crash or stutter. So, head over to the official website of your GPU’s manufacturer and download the latest version from there.
- Close background applications: Open the Task Manager and close all unnecessary applications. This is because if you have multiple applications open in the background while playing Monster Hunter Wilds, the system will be unable to give it the resources it needs to run smoothly and deliver high FPS.
