Some of you might not know this, but corrupt or missing game files can stop the game from launching. Sometimes, the files get damaged during installation. Or, the system might fail to download a few files. Thankfully, Steam comes with a built-in feature that is extremely useful in such situations.

• Open Steam on your PC and go to your Library.
• Find Monster Hunter Wilds, right-click on the game and select Properties.
• Go to the Installed Files tab and click Verify Integrity of game files.
• Wait for Steam to check and fix any missing or corrupt files.
• Once done, repeat the process one more time to ensure all files are properly repaired.
• Restart Steam and try launching the game.

Sometimes, Steam itself can cause problems when launching a game. A small bug within Steam or a background process might prevent Monster Hunter Wilds from launching. In such a case, it’s best to restart Steam.

• Close Steam completely.
  • Click on the Steam menu in the top left corner and select Exit.
  • Alternatively, right-click the Steam icon in the system tray and click Exit.

While you don’t have to do this manually for every game, the system can sometimes fail to detect if the game has the permissions it needs to run smoothly. This can cause Monster Hunter Wilds to crash, but here’s how you can fix it.

• Exit Steam.
• Go the the folder where Monster Hunter Wilds is installed.
• Right-click on the Monster Hunter Wilds’ executable file.
• Click Run as administrator.
• Click Apply, then OK.
