The prices vary massively between the different models with the cheapest being the stock i5 iteration. All things considered, it’s a fairly solid price given the premium that’s usually attached to high-end products by the brand. What’s most interesting here is the different approaches, as you can go for an Alder Lake-powered machine or opt for an ARM model which includes 5G support.

It appears as though 5G connectivity is limited to the Microsoft SQ3 variations. These tablets utilize a custom-tweaked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor as opposed to your traditional x86 model, as you’ll find with the i5 and i7 choices. According to a recent press release, the company appears to champion the new mobile chip, boasting 19-hour battery life and A.I. features.

Little is known at the time of writing about how the modified ARM processor stacks up to the tried-and-true Intel alternatives, but we’ll be touching on the performance differences as soon as benchmarks come out. Regardless of which edition piques your interest, all Surface Pro 9 tablets feature the same 2880 x 1920 resolution with a 13-inch 120Hz display.

Can a Surface Pro 9 replace a laptop?

Yes, a Surface Pro 9 is entirely capable of replacing your run-of-the-mill productivity laptop. You’ll need to invest in a typing case, though, to make the most of the computer’s capabilities. Fortunately, you can sometimes get these in bundles from retailers, and Microsoft itself at no extra charge, especially around launch. It’s not always the case, but it’s worth looking out for.

What’s better – A Surface Pro 9 or an iPad Pro?

The battle of Microsoft Surface vs Apple iPad has persisted for over a decade, and things are looking closer than ever with this late 2022 launch. We’re currently unsure of exactly how each respective frontrunner stacks up against each other, as they’re built on different architectures, but we’ll bring you the benchmarks and comparisons as soon as possible.
