The long-awaited Twitter alternative app called Threads has just been launched recently by Meta – the owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp headed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The new app recorded over 30 million sign-ups within 24 hours of its release. The rate of growth recorded so far by Meta Threads is very encouraging for commerce. Here is a rundown of how to use Threads for business.

Whether you own a small or large-sized company, you can use the Threads app as a platform to create more awareness for your business. It is available to download for iOS and Android devices now, on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. In this article, we will show you how to use Meta Threads for your business.

How to Setup a Business Account on Meta Threads

In order to use Threads for business, the first thing you will need to do is create a Threads account. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to set up a business account on the app.

Step 1: You need to have an Instagram account to sign up on Threads. If you already have one, proceed and login to Threads with your Instagram account details.

Step 2: Once you are logged in, navigate to your profile and click on the Settings tab in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select Account from the dropdown menu to view your account settings.

Step 4: Select Other account settings from the list of options displayed, and you will be taken to the preferences tab on Instagram.

Step 5: Find Switch to Professional account from the list of options presented and tap it. Then tap the Continue button to proceed.

Step 6: Select the categories that best describe your business.

Step 7: Customize your account bio with relevant information and choose a profile picture.

Congratulations! You’ve created a Threads Profile for your business. However, you need to understand that the procedure explained above will also switch your Instagram account to a business account.

Do you use hashtags on Threads?

Unfortunately, Threads does not have the option to use hashtags. In order to connect with their user base, businesses will have to interact with content by liking and re-posting a Thread post.

Alternatively, you could also look into verifying your Threads account to hold more business authority. We have a step-by-step guide on how to get verified on Threads here.

Conclusion

The arrival of Meta Threads presents an exciting opportunity for businesses to reach a broader audience on a new social network. Since there currently aren’t any paid ads on the platform, any reviews, mentions, or reposts will grow brand awareness. To create a business account on the upcoming social media platform, all you have to do is follow our step-by-step guide provided earlier in the article. Threads is one of many Twitter alternatives breaking through onto the market, alongside Mastodon and Bluesky. With more and more users moving away from Twitter, it’s worth checking out some of these platforms to get fresh engagement for your business.
