Concerned over whether the ROG Ally will sell out? Have no fear.

Hype is building around the ASUS ROG Ally Z1 and Z1 Extreme, the forthcoming handheld PC gaming devices poised to take on Valve’s Steam Deck. The 7-inch display, lightweight gaming gadget looks set to impress, with an AMD Ryzen APU. This consists of Zen 4 CPU architecture and a RDNA 3 GPU – with the Asus specs page suggesting two variants: the six-core Z1 and the eight-core Z1 extreme processor.

There’s a fantastic, wide selection of PC games compatible with the device. Hefty internal storage and SSD capabilities also point to a wide selection storable on the Ally.

With all these great features, more of which are listed here, it’s no wonder there are worries about whether the ROG Ally Z1 will sell out. This isn’t a fear we can completely put to rest right now. However, judging by the last model, sell-out probably won’t happen straight away.

But it’s always best to be on the safe side. If you’re keen to nab an Ally Z1, read on to find out how to make sure you get your hands on one.

ASUS ROG Ally Z1 and Z1 Extreme: How to secure one

If you don’t want to miss out on the ASUS ROG Ally Z1 or the Extreme model, you should get involved with some pre-orders. The device doesn’t come out until the release date – June 13th. However, you can pre-order the Z1 Extreme version of the Ally from Best Buy for $699 USD. The cheaper Z1 version will cost $599 USD but isn’t currently available for pre-order.

Otherwise, keep an eye on these retailers when the big launch event arrives. They’re likely to have both models in stock.

Which model is more likely to sell out?

Given the elevated specs of the Z1 Extreme, we expect this model to fly off the shelves a little quicker.
