More space and speed aren’t exclusive wants for gaming monitors. Home office tasks, productivity, and daily computing deserve monitors that can keep up. Samsung’s 34-inch ViewFinity S5 (S55GH) is a monitor that can – and it’s at its best price on Amazon. The curved 120Hz display is now down to a low price of $250, a $100 drop from its regular $349. And that makes it an excellent pick if you want more…everything from a monitor upgrade.

Why we like the Samsung 34-inch ViewFinity S5 (S55GH)
Large, panoramic view for better productivity
A 34-inch monitor provides extra ‘roomy’ real estate compared to a single, say, 27-inch monitor. And that’s great if you don’t have the office space for two monitors; picking a curved model that can easily fit dual windows for different apps can be a good alternative. The S55GH has a 21:9 aspect ratio, which should prove comfortable for most uses.
Curved for comfort and visually enjoyable
The S55GH is a 1440p curved monitor with a 1800R curvature. That’s a subtle curve, but it adds a little more visual engagement than a fully flat panel and can be more comfortable. This monitor’s screen is detailed and very viewable, too. It’s HDR10-rated, guaranteeing good brightness, contrast, and over a billion accurate colors – though it is always best to calibrate for professional-level image editing work.

A fast refresh rate and game mode
Samsung hasn’t designated the S55GH as a ‘gaming monitor’, but it does have a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s useful if you do want to use it for gaming, as is the ‘Game Mode’, which automatically adjusts colors and contrast. You also get VRR (variable refresh rate) support with AMD FreeSync Premium to help reduce screen lag and tearing.
What to consider before you buy
The 34-inch ViewFinity S55GH is a quick, high-quality monitor that may be best for productivity, home office use, or viewing content. It can also support up to 120 frames per second for gaming at 1440p. However, if you want a gaming-specific monitor with added features or a faster refresh rate, you may want to look to Samsung’s other models.
