It’s hard to believe that AOC’s Q27G3XMN gaming monitor isn’t yet more expensive. The 27-inch Mini LED screen has been at its best in August, down to an enjoyably low price. And it’s still reduced in a ‘limited-time’ discount at Amazon – saving $70 and pushing it down to $230. That’s a difference-maker if the regular price is just beyond your budget, yet you really want to upgrade to a high-quality 1440p monitor.

Why we like the AOC Q27G3XMN Gaming Monitor

1440p Mini-LED

This standard-sized 27-inch monitor combines the detail of 1440p resolution with the bright and vivid capabilities of Mini-LED technology. The VA panel has 336 dimming zones, enabling it to produce deeper blacks and brighter whites for more immersive and, ultimately, enjoyable gaming.

Fast refresh rate

This monitor’s 180Hz refresh rate supports fast-action gameplay up to 180 frames per second. That makes it suitable for online competitive gaming or gameplay where speed is key, backed by a super-quick 1ms response time. That refresh rate should be plenty for most entry-level and midrange gaming systems, with a bit of headroom for performance in less demanding titles, too.

Stylish design

We really like the design of the AOC Q27G3XMN, from its three-sided frameless display for minimal distraction to its height-adjustable stand with cable loop. Plus, the monitor is pivot, swivel, and tilt-adjustable, allowing you to find the most comfortable viewing angle.

What to consider before you buy

A monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate is fast enough for most, but if you have a high-end system capable of super high frame rates, you may want a 240Hz monitor for the extra assurance. Still, at this price, and for a first 1440p model, there’s a lot to enjoy. We think the AOC Q27G3XMN looks the part, and offers gaming and daily-viewing quality aplenty. Hopefully it stays at this price for a while, too, but it’s your call as to whether it’s a worthy buy. If you’re not sure, check out our best gaming monitors guide for more options.
